CLASSROOM HAPPENINGS
KIDS CARE CLUB
Second graders completed their November Kids Care Club volunteer project on Tuesday, with the help of Brandy Bennett, coordinator of the the Volunteer Center of Erie County. To wrap up our very patriotic month, the classes discussed the importance of the armed services and veterans, and talked about what the Ohio Veterans Home was. The students were very eager to share their knowledge of all that veterans do for us and our country, and then made beautiful birthday cards for the veterans living at the Ohio Veterans Home. They created exciting designs, including not only birthday wishes, but many American symbols they have learned in social studies class. Thank you to Mrs. Bennett for again helping us to help others in our own community!

KIDS CARE CLUB
Second graders will take part in the Kids Care Club of Erie County, and will be completing a different volunteer project each month. Brandy Bennett, from the Volunteer Center (below) came in to meet the students and complete our first project. Mrs. Bennett explained what it means to volunteer and talked to the kids about some of the projects they will be doing this year, including helping the Humane Society, Veteran's Home, and the Providence Care Center just to name a few. The children decorated placemats with a fall theme to the people receiving meals through the "Meals on Wheels" program. The students are very excited to show their good citizenship this year!

CLOCK TWISTER
Mr. Ryan's math class was having so much fun playing clock twister. Smiles and laughs were coming from all over the room as the students practiced telling time.
